Description

Job Opportunity: 10W Ortho RN

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
  • Coordinate care across all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

  • License: Current RN license in Oklahoma, verified within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association) required prior to start.
  • Experience:
    • Specialty: RN Ortho (Orthopedic Nursing) – Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN Ortho experience expected.
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not specified or required.

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Completion of pharmacology and medical-surgical exams with minimum 80% score prior to start; updated every 3 years.
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% score; updated every 3 years.
  • Completion of unit-specific checklist (optional for onboarding).
  • Completion of nursing contingent worker onboarding and pre-hire modules.
  • Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation required prior to start.
  • Documentation of immunizations and health screenings including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or history; no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
    • Influenza vaccine or mask requirement during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for TB, with chest X-ray if positive
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
  • Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
  • Background checks including criminal background, EPLS, employment verification, education verification, and professional references.
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Driver’s license or state ID current and matching address requirements.
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background).

Additional Notes

  • Flu season mask policy applies if influenza vaccine is declined.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment requiring critical thinking and minimal supervision.
  • This is a long-term assignment with a 13-week contract length.
