Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU Float)

Location: Vero Beach, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU Float)
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Start Date: Next applicable orientation date (3-4 weeks out)
• Floating: Yes, will float within scope to 3 hospitals within 20 miles
• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (36 guaranteed hours) or 8/10 hour shifts (40 guaranteed hours)
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Pending license accepted

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
• Ability to manage non-titratable drips
• Knowledge of basic arrhythmias
• Epic experience at level 3 or 4 required
• Familiarity with cardiac drips required

Certifications Required

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – must have at time of submission
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must have at time of submission
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – must obtain prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Must be nicotine-free (smoke-free facility)
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen required within 1 year of start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (updated annually)
• Required immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) administered during orientation
• Must complete online training modules prior to start (high priority, no delays)
• 2 professional references within 2 years required
