Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN Step Down)

Job Description

• Work in a Step Down unit with patient ratios:

  • Step Down: 3:1
  • Day Shift: 5:1
  • Night Shift: 7:1
• Responsibilities include:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Pushing, Pulling, Lifting
  • Medication Administration
  • Patient Assessments
  • Care Plans
  • Effective Communication and Teamwork

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Valid New York State RN license (State License Verification required)

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• 8 Hours of Stroke Training (including NIHSS)
• Arnot Skills Checklist (unit-specific, updated annually)
• Arnot Core Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)

Health & Immunizations

• COVID-19 Vaccine (proof or agency declination)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
• Hepatitis B - positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or Arnot-specific declination form
• Influenza Vaccine or Arnot-specific declination (mask required if declined)
• Varicella - positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
• Tdap (preferred, not required; declination form if no record)
• TB Test (annual requirement) - skin PPD or Quantiferon test with follow-up as needed
• Physical/Health Statement (within last 12 months) including vitals and vision screening
• Fit Test (annual requirement) for approved respirator models

Professional Requirements

• Valid US Driver’s License or State ID (non-expired)
• Agency Background Check (within 30 days) including criminal and county checks for all counties lived/worked in last 7 years
• Agency Drug Screen (9+ panel, within 30 days)
