Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN Medical/Surgical)

Location: Elmira, New York

Job Description

• Work as part of team and primary nursing teams
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and ACLS certification required prior to start

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Valid New York State RN license (State License Verification required)

Certifications

• BLS (AHA American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (AHA American Heart Association only)
• 8 Hours of Stroke Training (includes NIHSS)
• Fit Test (annual requirement, specific mask models required)

Health & Immunizations

• COVID-19 Vaccine or agency declination
• MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
• Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or facility-specific declination form
• Influenza Vaccine or facility-specific declination (mask required if declined)
• TB Test: Annual testing with specific requirements for PPD or Quantiferon; follow-up CXR if prior positive
• Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
• Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years or facility-specific declination form
• Annual Physical/Health Statement with no restrictions

Professional Requirements

• Arnot Skills Checklist (unit-specific, updated annually)
• Arnot Core Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
• Agency Background Check (within 30 days, includes multi-county criminal and national checks)
• Agency Drug Screen (9+ panel, within 30 days)
• Driver’s License or State ID (valid, unexpired)
• Arnot Resume (employment and education history for last 7 years)
• 2 Professional References (1 from last 12 months, 1 from last 3 years)
• Employment Verification (most recent employer and agency verifications)
• Education Verification (initial nursing degree verification required)
• Signed and dated Job Description acknowledgment
• Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., Code of Conduct, Sexual Harassment Acknowledgement, Parking Registration)
