Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Germantown, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room (ER) at a Level I Trauma Center. This is a travel/contract position with strict local radius restrictions.

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years recent experience in nursing (first-timers not accepted unless 3+ years recent experience)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience preferred

Schedule & Work Conditions

• On-call as needed
• Weekend shifts as needed (weekend block schedule may be considered)
• Locals accepted only within a 100-mile radius (strict)

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or multistate license compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Driver’s license required for submission

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for ER and related units
• NIH Stroke Certification - Required for all RNs except those at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital (expires every 2 years)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, TNCC preferred but not required for ER)

Prior Travel Experience

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
• Two recent professional references required
• Performance evaluation required if employed with agency for 1+ year

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (proof of vaccines or positive antibody titers with boosters if needed)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer or signed declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (if applicable)

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge with strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters)
• Facility-specific dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Must sign confidentiality acknowledgment prior to start
• Submission of all required documents including licenses, certifications, background checks, and health records before start date
