Job Opportunity: Technologist - Interventional Radiology (IR)

Location: Saginaw, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Set up all radiographic equipment prior to angiographic procedures.
  • Process and perform quality control checks on cine radiographic images.
  • Assist in preparing patients for procedures.
  • Support cath lab/Interventional Radiology staff and physicians to ensure efficient use of the cardiac cath lab/special procedures.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Assisting in prepping patients, sterile tray setup, post-cath care, procedures, and room cleanup (35%).
    • Manipulating equipment and setting appropriate techniques on radiographic generators for optimal image quality (35%).
    • Operating electronic equipment such as cardiac output computers, oxygen saturation equipment, hemodynamic equipment, pacemakers, and performing oxygen saturation studies and cardiac output measurements (30%).

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty Experience: Interventional Radiology experience required
  • Additional Specialty: Neuro experience required
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Active Michigan license relevant to Technologist role
    • Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification
    • Active American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • Documentation:
    • Work history and skills checklist pertinent to Cath Lab, current within 1 year
    • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).
  • Scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; no scheduling changes will be approved after an offer is made.

This temporary Technologist role in Interventional Radiology requires strong experience in IR and neuro procedures, relevant certifications, and the ability to operate specialized cardiac and radiographic equipment. The position supports a busy cath lab environment in a full-service hospital with advanced surgical and specialty care services.
