Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Day/Night rotating (0700-1900 / 1900-0700)
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Floating is required
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg patients
• Unit: High volume unit with 26 beds caring primarily for CHF patients, acute MI's, post device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmias; also 51 beds for general surgery patients including colorectal, ostomies, plastic/cosmetic, breast procedures, and reconstruction surgeries
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• First Time Travelers: Accepted
• Locals: Not accepted if within 75 miles radius

Required Qualifications

• License: Must have a valid New York RN license in hand (no exceptions)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required by unit
• Other: Ability to handle high patient volume and floating as needed

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete the following health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit Mask test (annual)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
• TB Questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug Screening (within 30 days of start)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
• Eye Exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Verification Requirements

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
• Education verification from primary source (no hard copies accepted)
• Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Transcript/Diploma if education verification not on file
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
• Employment verification of at least 2 past employments
• References (2 within 3 years) required for Aya candidates

Additional Information

• Must be able to work rotating shifts and weekends as scheduled
• Floating between units is mandatory
• High patient acuity and volume expected
• Candidates must be willing to travel and work outside a 75-mile radius from their home
