Job Opportunity: CVOR Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Rotating shifts: 8 or 10 hour shifts between 0600-1930 (flexible)
• Call: rotating weekday and weekend call shifts based on department needs
• Holiday call hours required
• Must have at least 2 years of Surgical Technician experience in cardiothoracic surgery (required)
• Preferred additional experience in robotic and general service lines
• EPIC system experience
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles

Required Qualifications

• Current Certified Surgical Technician license/certification appropriate for the specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
• Completion of specialty-specific competencies and onboarding education prior to assignment
• Compliance with all required vaccinations and health screenings, including but not limited to:

  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • Tuberculosis screening (PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray)
• Fit testing for respiratory protection (3M 1860 or 1870+ masks)
• Drug screening (12 panel) within 30 days prior to start
• Criminal background check, employment verification, and education verification completed prior to assignment
• Completion of specialty exam and skills checklist demonstrating competency in surgical technology
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (if applicable)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician in cardiothoracic surgery
• Prior travel experience not required (no explicit mention)

• Must be able to work flexible shifts and be available for call and holiday coverage
• May be required to float to other nearby sites within 40 miles
• Must complete all onboarding and credentialing requirements prior to assignment start
