Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I (Travel)

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
  • Coordinate care among all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

License & Certifications

  • Current RN license in Oklahoma (Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be AHA).

Exams & Testing

  • Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years, max 2 attempts).
  • Specialty Exam in Telemetry Nursing (minimum 80% or national benchmark, updated every 3 years, max 2 attempts).
  • EKG Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years, max 2 attempts).
  • Core Competencies Exam covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years, max 2 attempts).
  • Cerner Test-Out (required prior to start).
  • Skills Checklist (clinical, completed within one year of start, updated annually).

Health & Immunizations

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start).
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.

Background & Verification

  • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually).
  • Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually).
  • Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days prior to start).
  • Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.

Other Requirements

  • Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and valid).
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
