Job Opportunity: Rapid RN Post Partum
Location: Carmel, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Acute Rapid Response (LTARapidResponse)
Contract Length: 4 weeks
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
- Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Indiana (Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Must be AHA certified.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics certification required.
- NRP Advanced certification required.
- Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years).
Exams & Competencies
- Pharmacology exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years).
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years).
- Ascension Fetal Monitoring competency if not covered in core exam.
- Ascension Safe Sleep training.
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years).
Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Tuberculosis screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire.
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (updated annually).
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
Background & Screening
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment.
- Employment verification for past 7 years.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
- Drug screening: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
- Professional references: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
Other Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID matching home state for compact license.
- Resume or professional profile submission required.
- Completion of onboarding requirements including nursing contract worker onboarding and education attestations.
- Completion of skills checklist within one year of start, updated annually.
- Badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations).
