Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work a 33.5-hour contract with the following shifts:
- 1 shift of 9.5 hours (8 PM - 5:30 AM, Friday night)
- 2 shifts of 12 hours (7 PM - 7:30 AM, Saturday & Sunday nights)
- Experience with PACS, portable X-rays, C-Arm, and contrast studies required.
- EPIC experience required; Interlad experience preferred.
- Must have OR and fluoroscopy experience (fluoro procedures include lumbar punctures, myelograms, swallowing studies, esophagrams, UGIs, barium enemas, bronchoscopies, ERCPs).
- Work in a fast-paced central department covering exams throughout the hospital including fluoro, OR, inpatients, outpatients, ED, and NICU.
- Equipment used includes Samsung, Carestream, Siemens, Phillips X-ray equipment, GE OEC C-arms, and O-arm.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years strongly preferred.
- First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience not required).
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- State license as applicable for Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) in North Carolina
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency with PACS, portable X-ray machines, C-Arm, and contrast imaging.
- EPIC electronic medical record system experience required.
- Fluoroscopy and OR imaging experience mandatory.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable (must be from an accredited Radiology or Imaging program)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Fit mask test completed within the current calendar year (N95 respirators approved)
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, health history form, dress code acknowledgment, and floating policy acknowledgment
- EPIC test with passing score required prior to clearance (2 attempts allowed, additional attempts may be approved onsite)
- Pass/fail testing for EPIC or Dysrhythmia/EKG as applicable
Additional Requirements
- 2 supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months
- Employment application/resume with 7 years of work history
- Verification of all employment within the last 5 years through a third-party vendor
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
Work Environment
- Level II trauma center with adult and pediatric emergency services
- 21 OR rooms, 3 endoscopy rooms, 2 fluoroscopy rooms, 50-bed NICU, and day surgery center
- High volume: 250-300+ exams per day, with 100-125 portable exams daily
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Radiologic Technologist specializing in X-Ray with strong fluoroscopy and OR imaging skills. The role requires proficiency with EPIC and various imaging equipment in a busy Level II trauma center environment. Candidates must meet strict compliance, certification, and immunization requirements. Prior travel experience is not required.
