Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Snellville, Georgia

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Cath Lab position caring for adult to geriatric patients. First-time travelers are accepted.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (Registered Nurse)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Circulate procedures
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring

Work Environment

• Patient ratio: 3 rooms with 5 beds each; average daily census 8-10
• Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Floating: Possible float to sister campus
• Call: 10 call days per month
• Weekends: Every third weekend
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Orientation & Compliance

• Maximum return-to-orientation (RTO) time: 7 days
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length

Required Licenses

• Valid Registered Nurse license for the state of Georgia

Health & Background Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including education verification
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (3 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation)
• Color blind testing

Additional Requirements

• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Verification of most recent work history (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
• Two clinical references required

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in a Cath Lab or similar specialty, who holds current BLS and ACLS certifications, and is comfortable with procedural sedation and dysrhythmia management in an adult to geriatric patient population.
