Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Cath Lab Technologist to support a busy Cath Lab department with 7 procedure rooms (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular). The role involves preparing procedure suites, ensuring radiation safety, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment, assisting physicians during procedures, and managing room turnover.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
• Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring equipment
• Pull supplies, set up sterile tables, scrub in and assist physicians with procedures including device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon & stent deployment
• Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
• Clean, restock, and turn over rooms
• Perform sheath removals

Work Schedule

• 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) plus call
• Rotating day off
• Option to consider 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Weeknight and weekend call rotation (approximately once every 3 weekdays and every 3 weekends)
• Holiday call may be required
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Department & Staffing

• Cath Lab daily staffing: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• STEMI call team: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• Hybrid floating for vascular cases
• Orientation: 2-3 full days of training/shadowing, buddy call for first 2 weeks

Patient Types & Procedures

• Common procedures: Left and Right Heart Catheterizations (LHC, RHC), PCI, Structural interventions, Watchman device, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI, Roto, Laser

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience (specific experience may vary based on assignment)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Additional Information

• EMR systems used: Merge, Cerner
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to submission
• Scrubs provided; clinicians may wear their own scrub caps

This position requires a skilled Cath Lab Technologist with solid experience and certifications, able to work a demanding schedule including call and holidays, and comfortable with a variety of invasive cardiovascular procedures.
