Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Required Certifications

ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
PALS (AHA)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (higher value confirmed)
Comfortable and experienced attending deliveries
Servo U ventilator experience preferred but not required
Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Patient Population & Work Environment

Patient types: Inpatient, ER, birth center, pediatric ER stabilization
High-risk deliveries frequently attended
ICU experience involved
Facility has the highest birth volume among related hospitals

Job Duties

Perform 8-15 treatments per day
ABG draws and inpatient EKGs
Assist physicians with intubation (not required to intubate independently)

Staffing & Scheduling

Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Weekend requirement: Every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Holiday requirement: Every third holiday, scheduled in advance
Call or standby call: Very rare
Block scheduling preferred and usually accommodated (e.g., 5 nights on, 9 off)
Manager balances schedule and is open to suggestions

Additional Information

Department orientation: 3-6 shifts
No floating requirements
Dress code: Hospital-provided scrubs (OR/hospital standard)
Equipment used: Servo U adult ventilators, infant CPAPs, etc.
Hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7 onsite
Staffing: Typically 2 RTs on days and nights, with manager support as needed

This position is suitable for respiratory therapists seeking a 13-week contract in a busy hospital environment with a focus on neonatal and adult respiratory care. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are welcome.
