Required Skills & Experience

• IVs, Drains, Ostomies, Wound Vacs, NG tubes, Foley Catheters
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Intermediate Care background required
• RN required to titrate drips (Heparin commonly; occasionally insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro)

Staffing & Support

• Tele/Monitor Techs present; RNs do not read telemetry strips
• Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment; agency staff not required to work charge
• Nurse Aides available with ratios:

  • Days: 1:8
  • Nights: 1:14
• Respiratory Therapy/Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, occasional tracheostomy; no ventilators

Scheduling & Work Conditions

• Shifts: 12-hour nights
• Scheduling: No guaranteed block scheduling but efforts made to accommodate, especially nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday (EOH)
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating: May float to other med/surg units on rotation if overstaffed
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed
• Orientation: 12 hours computer training + 12 hours shadowing

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS preferred

• Must note if clinician has previously worked for this facility; if yes, previous employment must have ended at least 6 months prior
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
