Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Oncology Medical Surgical nursing for a Level I Trauma Center. The position offers 48-hour or 36-hour shifts with ASAP start dates.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Oncology experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Job Details
- Shift Options: 48-hour or 36-hour shifts available
- Schedule: Weekend shifts as needed; no weekend block scheduling except possible consideration
- Nursing Model: Team nursing (candidates unfamiliar should discuss during interview)
- On-Call: As needed
- Locals: Not accepted; strict 100-mile radius rule for travel nurses
- Experience Requirements:
- Oncology Medical Surgical experience
- Level I Trauma experience
- Large hospital experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including statewide, county, federal, education verification, sex offender search, and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry (for TN facilities)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start; no pending compliance allowed
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit testing: 3M N-95 mask fit test within 1 year, must pass without limitations
- Immunizations: Proof of MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB testing (annual updates), and seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required
- Two recent professional references required
- Skills checklist and internal evaluations as applicable
- Photo badge meeting strict guidelines required prior to start
- Facility-specific dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers must have 3 years recent Oncology Med Surg experience to be considered
- All travel requests must be submitted at time of application; no late submissions accepted
- Candidates cannot be submitted to multiple job IDs/facilities simultaneously
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and credentialing requirements prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced Oncology Medical Surgical RNs with prior travel experience seeking a challenging role in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
