Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (7 AM - 7 PM), with possible changes during interview
Alternate Shift Option: 4x12 hour shifts (48 hours) also available
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Medical Surgical)
First-time Travelers: Not accepted
On-Call: As needed
Weekend Requirement: As needed; weekend block schedule may be considered but not guaranteed
Local Candidates: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule applies)
License: Must be fully compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines; pending licenses not accepted
Large Hospital Experience: Preferred

Required Qualifications & Certifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background & Compliance Checks

Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually
Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)

Additional Requirements

Two recent professional references required
Skills checklist and internal evaluations required annually or if employed with agency for 1+ year
Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months)
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed

Notes

Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers are not accepted
All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; late submissions will not be approved by facility
Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and submission requirements prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment in a large hospital setting in Memphis, TN.
