Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (ICU)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Patient Types: Trauma, Cardiovascular, Stroke, Neuro
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• On-call: No
• Floating: Yes, may float within scope to Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Electronic Health Record: EPIC required
• First-time travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
• Years of Experience: Preferred 3 years, minimum 2 years with strong experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-timers not accepted)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX; must obtain within first week if not already held)

Licensure

• Valid Maryland RN license OR Compact RN license with proof of Maryland residency (driver’s license must match compact license state)
• Pending license accepted

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types preferred)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific timing for PPD tests)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, vaccination, or declination)
• Flu vaccine required (no declinations accepted)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (all required annually)
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement

Scheduling & Work Conditions

• No block scheduling
• Floating to IMC as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Local candidates accepted but at a reduced rate (not relevant for recruiter)

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with prior travel contract experience who meet the licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable working in a trauma and critical care environment.
