Description

Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Newark, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: ICU Registered Nurse
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Required
Patient Ratio: 1:2-3
Locals: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
First Time Travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete the following health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
TB questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (Surface AB positive titer, completed series or declination)
- Varicella
Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

References: 2 references within 3 years (required for Aya candidates only)
Employment application and skills checklist (annual)
Work history verification (minimum 2 past employments verified)
State-specific documents including:
- NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable)
- NYS Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results (if applicable)
- NYS Disciplinary Action Search Results (if applicable)
- NY Sex Offender Registry Search (within 30 days of start)
- NY Medicaid Exclusion List check (within 3 months of start)

Notes

Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
Floating between units is a job requirement.
Candidates must be able to work night shifts and every other weekend.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a community hospital setting with a focus on high-quality, patient-centered ICU care.
