Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Minimum 1 year of experience required (1st time travelers accepted)
• Patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics, primarily adult RRT but includes pediatric intubated patients
• Work setting: Level 2 trauma center, interventional stroke certified, level 3 NICU (regional transport resource)
• Responsibilities include managing non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial lines, oxygen management, patient education, arterial and capillary blood gases, and line draws
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing (Spirometry) preferred
• Floating required within facility and sister campus as needed
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Holiday work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
• RTO (Return to Office) maximum 7 days
• Unit systems used: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, Viasys Avea

Required Qualifications

• License: Georgia RRT License
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Trauma experience required
• Must pass background check and education verification prior to start
• Physical exam within 12 months required
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months required
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 60 days required
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or declination)
  • Tdap (highly recommended)
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
• Color blindness testing required
• Competency exams required (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG)
• Skills checklist within 12 months required
• Work history verification and 2 clinical references required

Additional Information

• Floating may be required between main and sister campuses
• Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours orientation)
• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment pushback
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• No call requirements
