Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Minimum Experience: 1 year (1st time travelers accepted)
• Patient Population: Infants to Geriatrics (Primarily Adult RRT, also works with Pediatric intubated patients)
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing (Spirometry) preferred
• Work Setting: Level 2 trauma center, interventional stroke certified, Level 3 NICU (regional transport resource)
• Responsibilities include managing non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial lines, oxygen management, patient education, arterial and capillary blood gases, and line draws
• Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, Viasys Avea
• Floating: Yes, within facility and sister campus as needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Required Qualifications

• License: Georgia RRT License required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing preferred but not mandatory

Additional Requirements

• Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification required (degree related to specialty)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody or signed declination
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly recommended)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
• Flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
• Color blind testing required
• Competency exams as applicable (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT in the specialty
• Prior travel experience not required

Work Environment & Other Details

• Level 2 trauma center with stroke certification and Level 3 NICU
• Floating within facility and sister campus as needed
• No call requirements
• Expected to work some major holidays during assignment
• Scrub color: Slate Gray

This position is suitable for RRTs with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable working in a trauma and NICU environment, and holding the required Georgia state license and certifications. Prior travel experience is not mandatory.
