Travel RN CVICU - Nashville, Tennessee
Job Overview
Seeking highly motivated critical care nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, high acuity critical care environment. The unit cares for some of the most critically ill patients, primarily focusing on cardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery. The team also provides ICU-level care for COVID-19 patients, including those requiring ECMO support.

Required Experience
- Specialty: RN CVICU

Required Certifications & Licenses

- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Completion of a proctored cardiac rhythm test

- Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
- Completion of Ascension-specific competencies and onboarding requirements, including:
- Ascension Color Vision test
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
- Ascension EKG Exam
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Health and immunization requirements:
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations)
- Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years, no declinations)
- Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive, annual questionnaire)
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (updated annually)
- 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Background and verification checks:
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender Registry
- Employment and education verification
- Professional references (at least two)
- Other:
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (matching address requirements)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
Work Environment
- High acuity critical care unit with diverse patient population
- Exposure to cardiothoracic surgery recovery, neuro/neurosurgery, and COVID-19 critical care including ECMO
This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs with strong cardiac and neuro ICU skills who are comfortable working in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
