Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 10-hour days with variable start times
- Specialty: Cath Lab nursing with knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology (EP) procedures and techniques
- Experience required in cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology (IR)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, including diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology (EP) procedures and techniques
- Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Experience in Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
- Experience in a clinical setting
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certifications & Competencies
- Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication Exams required on first day with multiple retake opportunities
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam with passing score of 80% or higher (valid within 1 year)
- Unit-specific Competency Exam with passing score of 80% or higher (valid within 12 months)
- Core Clinical Training Parts I, II, and III with passing scores of 80% or higher, updated annually
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for all RNs
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including specific Bay Area counties and nationwide checks
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start
- Drug testing: Standard 9-panel (excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
- Physical exam within 1 year of start including physician statement of fitness to work
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved masks required)
- Annual TB testing and questionnaire as per facility policy
- Required immunizations or titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required as per facility policy
Additional Facility Requirements
- Photo for badge must be submitted by Monday prior to start date
- Completion of facility-specific learning modules and orientation prior to working on the floor
- Review and initial facility policies including COVID-19 preparedness, parking, uniform, confidentiality, and cybersecurity awareness
- Uniforms: Scrubs provided for certain units; others must follow facility scrub color guidelines
- References: Two supervisory references required, preferably from most recent employment
- Resume: Updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained
- Skills checklist: Unit-specific and updated annually

Summary
This is a travel contract RN position in the Cath Lab specialty requiring a California RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, and significant clinical experience in cardiac catheterization and related critical care areas.
