Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IMC) - Travel/Contract

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position in Med/Surg Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) Float Pool
• Float between Med/Surg units and IMC units
• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:6
• Care for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma
• Recent EPIC experience is required
• Recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in a hospital setting is required
• Must have prior experience on an IMC unit in a hospital setting

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care experience, including experience within the last year
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience in a hospital setting
• Telemetry experience
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Required Health & Compliance

• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions accepted)
• 2-step PPD or negative TB test within 1 year (with proper follow-up if positive)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (or declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual update required)

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions (updated annually)
• Verification of nursing license through NURSYS
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX) required within first week if not already held
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement

Notes

• Candidates must be comfortable working in a float pool environment with variable patient assignments
• Do not submit candidates without documented EPIC and IMC experience
• Local candidates within 50 miles may have different pay rates (not included here)
