Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surg / Telemetry)

Location: Germantown, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Unit: Med Surg, overflow unit, post-surgical, observation
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 or 1:7
• Transitioning to team nursing; LPNs being hired to assist
• Start Date: ASAP
• On-call and weekend shifts as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, but no block scheduling otherwise
• Local candidates within 100-mile radius not accepted
• Pending licenses not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel nursing experience

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references
• Background checks within 60 days of start, including:

  • Statewide, county, federal searches
  • Education verification (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
  • Sex offender search
  • Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
• E-Verify or attestation for Advanced Practice Nurses (if applicable)
• Skills checklist and competency exams updated annually
• Photo badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style photo, no glasses glare, no hats except religious, no piercings visible)
• Confidentiality acknowledgment signed prior to start
• Submission of all required documents at time of application (no late submissions accepted)

Work Environment & Dress Code

• Scrubs: Navy blue for RNs
• No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers
• Department directors and other clinical roles may wear business attire with lab coat when delivering patient care

Notes

• Candidates must be fully compliant with all licensing, certification, and documentation requirements before start date
• No exceptions for pending compliance or documentation
• Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory; first-time travelers will not be considered
