Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift Options: 48-hour or 36-hour shifts
• Nursing Model: Team nursing ratios (discuss during interview)
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed (weekend block may be considered, but no open block scheduling)
• Locals Accepted: No (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• First-Timers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
• Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Medical Surgical/Telemetry units
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs (except at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital)
• Other Certifications:

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required
  • PALS and NRP not required for this role

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Fit Mask Test: 3M N-95 mask fit test within 1 year, must pass without limitations
• Immunizations:

  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually
  • Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive antibody titers with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted)

Background & Documentation

• Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for 1+ year

Facility & Dress Code

• Scrub colors: Navy blue for RNs
• No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers (not applicable here)
• Photo badge required prior to start (passport-style photo with strict guidelines)

• All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no exceptions after offer
