Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Overview
- Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
- Unit: Medical Surgical Unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses
- Ratio/Census: 1:6 ratio; 38 bed unit with average daily census of 33
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Schedule: Every other weekend; floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Call Requirements: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days; blackout during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Locals Accepted at same rate
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- Experience working with adolescent and geriatric patient populations
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Floating within facility as needed, within scope of practice
- No call requirements
- Compliance with all documentation and certifications required to start on time; delays may result in assignment push back
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours)
Summary
This is a travel contract RN position on a Medical Surgical unit with telemetry in Augusta, GA. The role requires at least 1 year of RN experience, BLS certification, and competency in medication administration and dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation. The assignment is 14 weeks long with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, working every other weekend and floating as needed. Candidates must comply with all health, background, and competency requirements prior to start. Prior travel experience is not required.
