Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required
  • Float required: all travelers may be floated between facilities within the health system
  • Patient population: primarily Medical-Surgical (MS) with telemetry capability
  • Patient ratio: 1:5
  • Patients: Adult inpatients with established medical diagnoses requiring acute care or treatment

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in Charge Nurse roles
  • Proficient in interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry remote monitoring
  • Skilled in feeding tube care and management
  • Experience with blood product administration
  • Competent in peripheral line care and management, including PICC line management and IV starts
  • Knowledgeable in patient-controlled analgesia (PCA)
  • Experience in cerebrovascular accident (CVA) care
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC approved
  • Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam required for all RNs (2 attempts allowed, must score 82% or higher)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (verify with management)
  • Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit (verify with management)

Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
  • Primary source verification required within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
  • Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education
  • Health documents including:
    • Physical exam (if applicable)
    • Fit mask test (annual, approved N95 respirators)
    • Immunizations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine or approved exemption
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
    • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • References: 2 supervisory references required from clinical assignments within last 24 months
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Work history verification for last 5 years through third-party vendor
  • Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
  • Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, health history form, floating policy acknowledgment, contractor equipment acknowledgment, dress code review, and job description review
  • EPIC test completion with passing score screenshot required prior to clearance

Additional Notes

  • The facility has a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Candidates must be flexible with scheduling
  • Floating between facilities is mandatory for all travelers
  • Candidates must complete all compliance requirements by the deadline prior to start date
  • Pass/Fail EKG exam is mandatory for all RNs regardless of specialty
  • Candidates must submit a professional badge photo meeting strict guidelines (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
