Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN Medical/Surgical)

Location: Elmira, New York

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Floating to other units as needed
• Occasional charge nurse responsibilities
• Required certifications: ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and BLS
• Stroke training required (8 hours total, including NIHSS)

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid New York RN license, verified within 30 days prior to start
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • 8 hours of Stroke Training including NIHSS
• Competency:

  • Must complete Arnot Skills Checklist for assigned unit
  • Must pass Arnot Core Competency Exam with a score of 80% or higher
• Health Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccine or agency declination
  • MMR immunity (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series)
  • Hepatitis B immunity or declination form
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (mask required if declined)
  • TB testing within last 12 months (PPD or Quantiferon)
  • Varicella immunity (positive titer or 2 vaccine series)
  • Tdap vaccine or declination form (preferred, not required)
  • Annual physical/health statement within last 12 months
  • Fit test for approved respirators within last 12 months
• Background and Screening:

  • Agency background check including county and national criminal searches within last 30 days
  • 9+ panel drug screen within last 30 days
• Professional Documentation:

  • Driver’s license or state ID (valid, unexpired)
  • Resume covering last 7 years of employment and education
  • Two professional references (one within last 12 months, one within last 3 years)
  • Employment verification from most recent employer (agency verification accepted)
  • Education verification of initial nursing degree (ASN or BSN)
  • Signed job description and other required forms
  • Color headshot photo
  • Completion of Arnot Health personal information and code of conduct forms
  • Completion of Arnot self-study packet and sexual harassment acknowledgement
