Description

Job Opportunity: RRT - NICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: Weekend every other week
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year (Unit accepts first-time travelers)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Certifications: RRT required (CRT not accepted)
  • Clinical Screening: Candidate will be reviewed for clinical fit before final decision
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Holiday Work: If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it; if two, work both; if three, work two of the holidays
  • Major Holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate
  • Orientation Hours: Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
  • Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Required Documents and Compliance

  • Identification: Valid Driver’s License or State ID
  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start; includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and more
  • Education Verification: Degree related to specialty must be verified; can be pending at start with proof of processing
  • State License Verification: Must be licensed in Georgia, verified within 30 days prior to start
  • Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start; instant drug screen acceptable
  • Immunizations and Health Requirements:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • TB Questionnaire updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
    • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended but not required
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (required for RRTs)
    • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (if applicable)
  • References: Two clinical references required
  • Skills Checklist: Updated within last 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
  • Orientation and onboarding requirements are strict; delays in compliance can delay start date.
  • The facility accepts first-time travelers and locals at the same rate.

This position is ideal for a Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience, holding an active RRT license in Georgia, who is comfortable working weekend shifts every other week in a NICU setting. Prior travel experience is not required.
