Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room with experience in circulating and scrubbing. The role involves working with adult to geriatric patient populations in a main OR setting covering specialties such as General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgeries.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience as a Registered Nurse (higher value confirmed)
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
- 1st time travelers accepted
Work Environment & Responsibilities
- Circulate and Scrub experience required (hard stop)
- Patient ratio: 16 rooms, average daily census of 35
- Unit systems include Epic, Pyxis, and 2 Da Vinci XI Robots
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
- Weekend shifts: average 2-3 per contract period
- Floating is rare
- Call requirements: 7-8 calls in a 6-week schedule plus 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts
- Holiday work expected if major holidays fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Adult and Geriatric patients
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months required
- Drug screening (10-panel) required within 60 days of start
- Annual flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Other health documents required: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap (highly recommended)
- Color blindness testing required
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
Orientation & Training
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours)
- Competency exams required for nursing staff (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, general competency)
- Facility-specific policies on dress code and code of conduct must be reviewed and signed prior to start

- Locals accepted at the same rate
- References and skills checklist required by agency (not client)
- Work history verification required, can be pending at start with proof of processing
