Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. Candidates with less than 3 years of experience will not be considered first-timers. Weekend availability is required on an as-needed basis. Local candidates within a 100-mile radius are not accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Tennessee.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Recent Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only. Required for RRTs.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only. Required for all candidates except certain non-clinical roles.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for RRTs working with pediatric populations.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required if working in NICU or newborn settings.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal, and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter.
- Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search required.
- Education verification required; diploma/transcript alone is not sufficient.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands.
- Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start; must pass without limitations.
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually.
- Immunizations required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (proof of vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start; no pending compliance allowed.
Additional Requirements
- Two recent professional references required.
- Skills checklist and internal evaluations required for candidates employed with the agency for one year or more.
- Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no glasses glare, no head coverings except for religious reasons, no facial piercings).
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RRTs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
Notes
- Locals within 100 miles are not accepted for this travel contract.
- All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission.
- Candidates must be fully compliant with all documentation and credentialing prior to start.
