Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Location: Reidsville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Rotation: Every Other Week (EOW) and Holidays
• Float required to 2A overflow unit for MS Tele assignments; may have up to 6 patients if needed
• All travelers subject to float between facilities
• Patient population includes acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Common patient diagnoses:

  • Acute/chronic respiratory illness
  • Post-op general surgery and gynecological surgery
  • Post-op total knee and hip replacements
  • Orthopedics, acute and chronic pain
  • Active GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema
  • Diabetes (hyper- and hypoglycemic conditions)
  • Renal failure, drug overdose
• Patients with Clinical Institute Withdrawal (CIWA) score below 7
• Exclusions: suicidal patients, arrhythmia, radioactive therapy, uncontrolled/new onset seizures, stable COVID patients
• IV medication drips administered may include Heparin and TNA

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• MAB (Medication Administration by Blood) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card
• Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
• Transcript/Diploma as applicable
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
• Verification of employment history for last 5 years
• Two supervisory references from clinical assignments within last 24 months
• Physical exam (if applicable)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
• Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year
• Fingerprinting as required by North Carolina regulations (for certain positions)
• Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing requirements (EPIC, EKG)
• Completion of floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement forms

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be aware of and comply with all facility policies including floating between units and facilities.
• Pass/fail EKG exam is mandatory regardless of specialty.
• Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and punctuality.

• All certifications and licenses must be current and verifiable through primary source verification.
• Facility has strict photo requirements for badge issuance (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire).
• Candidates must complete all onboarding and compliance tasks by specified deadlines prior to start date.
