Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) - Travel Contract

Location: Folsom, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role involves working primarily with surgical cases including spine and orthopedic procedures, with a focus on C-arm and some interventional radiology (IR) experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various radiology equipment including:

  • 2 Siemens 64-slice CT scanners
  • Radiology Fluoroscopy unit
  • Portable X-ray machines
  • C-Arms (used frequently)
• Perform portable chest X-rays anywhere in the hospital as needed
• Support surgical teams with imaging during spine and orthopedic cases
• Float between CT and X-ray departments as required
• Work 10-hour shifts with start times at 0630 or 1200, every other weekend (EOW)
• Participate in a 3-day floor-specific orientation
• Collaborate positively with staff to promote a good working environment
• Wear teal scrubs and radiation badge (travelers must provide their own badge)

Work Environment

• Radiologist coverage: In-house 16 hours/day and on-call overnight
• 24/7 Radiology Tech and Pharmacy support available
• EMR system: Cerner
• Holiday shifts rotate with core staff

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of Radiology experience (higher end of experience range applies)
• Active ARRT (R) certification
• California CRT license with Fluoroscopy permit
• Current BLS certification
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Must provide 2 supervisory references from modality work:

  • 1 reference within the last 12 months
  • 1 reference within the last 3 years
• Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any related hospital system within the past year; PRN work through outside firms is acceptable

Additional Notes

• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others is essential
• Experience with C-arm and surgical radiology cases preferred
• Floating between CT and X-ray departments expected
