Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required (first-time travelers accepted)
  • Must have some neuro experience
  • Must have scrub experience
  • Must be within a 45-minute radius for call back
  • Call schedule:
    • Weekday backup call from 5pm to 7am (Monday-Friday)
    • Weekend call (primary or backup) from 7am Saturday to 7am Monday
    • Holidays covered 7am to 7am if needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Maryland
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Valid BLS certification
  • ARRT certification required

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete unit-specific skills checklist
  • Must complete competency exams as applicable, including medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams
  • Must complete facility-specific policies and acknowledgements (e.g., hand hygiene, floating policy, time and attendance)
  • Must complete required CEUs related to stroke and trauma as applicable
  • Must complete EKG/medication pass/fail testing with limited attempts allowed
  • Must complete TB questionnaire annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Experience & Travel Requirements

  • Specialty experience: Minimum 1 year in Interventional Radiology with neuro and scrub experience
  • Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Notes

  • Candidate must be prepared for backup call responsibilities and weekend coverage
  • Facility provides radiation badges; candidates must obtain from facility for new assignments
  • All required documentation and certifications must be completed and verified prior to start date
