Job Details
- Location: Albany, Georgia
- Contract Length: 17 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Cases: 55-60 cases per day (~1000 per month)
- Suites: 19 suites
- EMR System: Meditech
- Floor Orientation: One week
Job Description
Seeking an experienced OR RN to provide perioperative nursing care in a full-service surgical facility. The facility handles a wide range of cases except major pediatrics, transplants, and C-sections in the main OR. It functions as a Level 2 trauma center with some ortho/neuro trauma and robotics cases.
Requirements & Qualifications
- License: Current RN license valid in Georgia
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience preferred (minimum 2-3 years required)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Skills: Must demonstrate proficiency in a broad range of surgical services; skills checklist must accurately reflect experience (proficiency level 3 required where indicated)
- Call & Weekend:
- Weekend coverage approximately once per quarter
- Call every 7th weekend on average (no weekday call)
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Call coverage limited to cases within RN’s competency
- Scrubbing: Not required but preferred
- Additional: Must be reliable, punctual, flexible, and able to cover multiple surgical specialties as needed
Team & Environment
- Charge nurse and nurse manager oversee operations
- OR techs present, must be CST certified
- 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available
- Surgeons on call 24/7
- Ventilator patients primarily recover in ICU
- No floating assignments
Travel Requirements
- Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility as verified by driver’s license
