Job Summary

The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under physician direction in Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR services. Procedures include extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for IR and neurointerventional procedures such as discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
• Assist in both sterile and non-sterile neurointerventional procedures including tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment following established guidelines and protocols.
• Ensure adherence to radiation safety and proper safety standards.
• Instruct students and residents; perform preceptor duties as needed.
• Perform quality assurance checks on equipment.
• Assist in maintaining supply inventory for IR and neuro IR procedures.
• Review coding procedures for accurate billing of neuro IR and IR procedures.
• Stay current with new techniques and technology through continuing education.
• Maintain patient and hospital information confidentiality.
• Comply with all relevant policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New York
• Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (Registered Radiologic Technologist) certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology
