Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 25 weeks
Job Description
- 12-hour day shifts
- Focus on Cardiac Cath/Interventional Cardiology
- Experience with Structural Heart and TAVR procedures preferred
- Responsibilities include Cath/EP and pre/post procedural care
- Must be able to float to other facilities within the system
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 5 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with TAVR procedures
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
- Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication Tests required on first day of orientation
- Unit-specific competency exams with passing score of 80% or higher
- Core clinical competency exams (Parts I, II, III) with passing score of 80% or higher, updated annually
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with passing score of 80% or higher
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including specific counties and nationwide searches
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript
- Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
- Drug testing (standard 9 panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
- Physical exam within 1 year of start including fitness to work statement
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved masks required)
- Annual TB questionnaire and two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or Tspot) as per facility policy
- Required immunizations or titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as per facility policy
Additional Requirements
- Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent employment
- Current and updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Ability to complete required learning modules and orientation prior to starting work
- Completion of facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA and cybersecurity training
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- Floating to other facilities within the system is mandatory
- Pass/fail telemetry exam on first day with up to 3 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation
- Facility requires strict adherence to immunization and testing policies with no exceptions for certain vaccines
- Candidates must be prepared to complete all required documentation and training before starting
