Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will perform respiratory therapy with minimal supervision, demonstrating basic competencies learned during orientation. Key responsibilities include:

• Mechanical ventilation
• Medicated aerosol delivery
• Airway clearance therapy
• Patient monitoring
• Oxygen and humidity therapy
• Special procedures such as CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, and patient transport
• Compliance with all policies and standards, including maintaining patient Protected Health Information (PHI) confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Required Onboarding and Compliance

• Verification of professional license and certifications through primary source within 30 days of start
• Completion of required immunizations and health screenings, including:

  • MMR (positive titers within last 15 years or approved booster protocol)
  • Varicella (positive titers within last 15 years or approved booster protocol)
  • Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination form
  • Annual Influenza vaccine (October–March) or approved declination with masking requirements
  • Fit Test for respirators completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA TB test within last 6 months (annual requirement)
• Physical exam within one year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions
• Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted)
• Criminal background checks, fingerprinting, and employment verifications as required by Ohio state regulations and employer policies
• Completion of competency exams, skills checklists, and core compliance training modules prior to clearance

Additional Information

• Must comply with all workplace safety and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA and PHI protection
• This role requires frequent communication, coordination, and physical activity in a clinical environment
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
