Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Unit Details
- Transplant facility with a primary stroke center
- Heavy MRI/MRA workload
- Schedule: Thursday through Sunday
- Call: 1 weekend call every 6 weeks
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to outpatient areas as needed
Requirements/Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- State license as an MRI Technologist (if applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty area
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on clinical area
- Education verification and diploma/transcript required
- Competency exams including medication test, color blind testing, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency may be required
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length
- Candidates must review and sign code of conduct and dress/professional appearance policies prior to start
Holidays
- If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it
- If two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both
- If three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
Screening & Verification
- Clinical screening to determine fit before final approval
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Work history verification and 2 clinical references required
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Floating assignments may include outpatient areas
- Candidates must pass color blind testing or alternative evaluation for blood collection tasks
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized transplant and stroke center environment with a focus on MRI/MRA imaging. The role requires flexibility in scheduling and compliance with a comprehensive set of clinical and health requirements.
