Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, day/night (07:00-19:30 or 19:00-07:30), Sunday through Saturday with weekend rotation
• Some holiday shifts based on operational need
• Floating required: may be assigned to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs

Unit & Patient Population

• Care for patients across specialties including Gynecology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, and ENT
• Experience with airway management including new tracheostomies
• Involvement in specialized procedures such as free flap monitoring for breast reconstruction and urinary diversion surgeries
• Opportunity to develop skills relevant to critical care settings

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
• Tracheostomy experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Licensure & Certifications

• Must hold a Wisconsin nursing license or a compact license from permanent address state
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Telemetry competency testing required before starting
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS)

Compliance & Screening Requirements

• Background checks including criminal, caregiver screening, and education verification as applicable
• Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., safety manual, telemetry test acknowledgments)

Additional Notes

• Candidate’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
• Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
