Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, day/night (07:00-19:30 or 19:00-07:30), Sunday through Saturday with weekend rotation
- Some holiday shifts based on operational need
- Floating required: may be assigned to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs
Unit & Patient Population
- Care for patients across specialties including Gynecology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, and ENT
- Experience with airway management including new tracheostomies
- Involvement in specialized procedures such as free flap monitoring for breast reconstruction and urinary diversion surgeries
- Opportunity to develop skills relevant to critical care settings
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- Tracheostomy experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Licensure & Certifications
- Must hold a Wisconsin nursing license or a compact license from permanent address state
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Telemetry competency testing required before starting
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS)
Compliance & Screening Requirements
- Background checks including criminal, caregiver screening, and education verification as applicable
- Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., safety manual, telemetry test acknowledgments)
Additional Notes
- Candidate’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
- Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
- Magnet-designated hospital with a strong reputation for teaching and patient care excellence
