Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year nursing experience in specialty
• Prior travel experience required (1st time travelers not accepted)
• Experience with cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips

Patient Population

• Adults to Geriatrics

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Clinical Skills and Work Setting

• Overflow IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit)
• Arrhythmia management including cardioversion, cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT
• Management of stable cardiac arrhythmias (A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia)
• Surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains)
• Occasional vascular patients, post cardiac catheterization, TR Bands, DKA
• Occasional orthopedic or CVA patient overflow (transferred ASAP)
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge required

Patient Ratio / Census

• 1:5-6 nurse to patient ratio
• 32 beds on unit

Unit Systems

• Epic (preferred), Pyxis, SBAR communication

Schedule and Work Conditions

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call: Rare, 2-hour response time; travelers typically do not manage Precedex
• Holidays: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)

Compliance

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to orientation schedule

Orientation

• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, and insulin drips
• Experience with anticoagulants including Aggrastat and Argatroban
