Job Details
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
- Staffing Ratios: 1:30
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or every third weekend
- On-Call Requirement: Yes
- Floating: Yes
- Scrub Color: Black
- Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions
- Flu Vaccine: Required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), including experience within the last year
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Must be completed within 90 days of start
- Includes SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, international searches if applicable, education verification, and sanction list checks
- References: Two professional references required from employment within the last 12 months; at least one must be a supervisor
- Employment Application: Required with 7 years of work history
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
- Competency Exam: Unit-specific competency exam required
- Guest Account Setup: Must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance for orientation and work access
Work Environment & Expectations
- Candidates must be local or willing to travel within approximately 75 miles
- First-time travel therapists are not eligible for this position
- Candidates will be required to participate in on-call and floating assignments
- Compliance with all health and safety protocols, including immunizations and drug testing, is mandatory
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 5 years of experience, required certifications, and licensure in North Carolina or a compact state. The role involves working with a wide range of patient age groups and requires flexibility for weekend and on-call shifts. Strict compliance with immunization and health screening requirements is mandatory. Orientation is provided bi-weekly, and candidates must complete all required background checks and documentation prior to starting.
