Registered Nurse - Orthopedics

Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call duties
• Float as needed
• Charge RN responsibilities required when needed
• Unit size: 29 beds
• Patient population: Adults through geriatrics, orthopedic patients, medical-surgical patients
• Telemetry monitoring available
• Physical therapy gym on unit for patient rehab
• High volume: total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties
• Moderate volume: other surgical procedures, inpatient and 24-hour observation medical patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Orthopedic Surgery, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in Charge RN roles

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
• Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam (must pass with minimum 82%)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Other certifications may be preferred or required depending on unit (e.g., TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification)

Additional Information

• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Candidate must complete all compliance requirements by deadlines prior to start date
• Floating policy applies to all agency staff
• Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
• Candidates must complete health history form and upload prior to clearance
• EPIC test required for RNs and some allied health professionals (2 attempts allowed, additional attempts may be approved onsite)

This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume orthopedic and medical-surgical unit with a diverse patient population and requires a strong clinical background, prior travel experience, and flexibility in scheduling.
