Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CICU

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Critical Care Unit (CICU) Registered Nurse
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
Patient Ratio: Able to manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Local Radius Requirement: Must live within 75 miles

Required Certifications

NY Registered Nurse License (must have in hand, no exceptions)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted
BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted
NIH Stroke Scale Certification
EPIC charting experience required

Required Qualifications & Compliance

Valid RN license in New York
Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

References: 2 references within 3 years (required for some candidates)
Employment application and skills checklist required
Work history verification required
Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)

Notes

Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract.
Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required.
Primary source verification of state license required within 30 days of start.
NURSYS verification required within 30 days for RN license.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity critical care environment with a reputable tertiary care hospital. Ideal for nurses with at least one year of critical care experience and required certifications, comfortable with night shifts and managing moderate patient ratios.
