Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Evening/Night shifts
- 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
- Every other weekend and some holidays
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the past 3 years
- Experience with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) or ventriculostomy care
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required
- Must pass Telemetry test prior to start
- Epic electronic health record experience required
Licensure & Certifications
- Wisconsin RN license or compact license required
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
Additional Requirements
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Must complete and pass facility-specific Telemetry testing (Adult or Pediatric as applicable)
- Background checks and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state requirements
- Compliance with facility-specific health and vaccination documentation (e.g., TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or approved exemptions)
- Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
Important Notes
- Candidates must complete required competency exams and pass Telemetry testing with remediation if needed
- Facility mandates strict adherence to documentation and verification processes including education, licensure, and certifications
- Physical exam and fit mask testing required per standard protocols
- Annual renewal and compliance with health and safety training and certifications required
References & Documentation
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years required
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) or ventriculostomy care
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs with acute care and telemetry skills who have prior travel contract experience and meet Wisconsin licensure and certification requirements.
