Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced OR Registered Nurse to support a full-service surgical facility. The role involves working in a busy operating room environment with approximately 55-60 cases per day. The facility functions as a Level 2 trauma center with a variety of cases including ortho/neuro trauma and robotics, but excludes major pediatrics, transplants, and C-sections in the main OR.

Work Schedule & Requirements

Shift: 7 AM – 5 PM with on-call rotation
Weekend Coverage: RN’s cover approximately one weekend per quarter
Call: General call about every 7th weekend; no weekday call
Call Response Time: 30 minutes
Holidays: Rotated with permanent staff; flexibility required
Orientation: One week floor-specific orientation
Scrubbing: Not required but preferred
Scrub Color: Provided

Facility & Team Details

Number of OR Suites: 19
Cases per Day: 55-60 (approx. 1000 per month)
EMR System: Meditech
Charge Nurse: Nurse manager in charge
OR Techs: Must be Certified Surgical Technologists (CST)
Ventilator Recovery: Mainly in ICU
Surgeon On Call: 24/7 coverage by surgeons
Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
Pharmacy: Available 24/7
Floating: None

Required Certifications & Qualifications

Current RN license in Georgia
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience (based on highest requirement)
Reliable with good attendance and punctuality
Skills checklist must accurately reflect proficiency; a rating of 3 indicates proficiency
Basic competency across almost all surgical services required
Must be flexible and able to serve the needs of the facility

Additional Notes

Strict 75-mile radius travel restriction from the address on the traveler's driver’s license to the facility
Travelers must submit a copy of their driver’s license upon application
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
