Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
- Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period.
- Holiday shifts may be required based on department needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Competency in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Required Credentials and Compliance
- Professional resume/profile submission required.
- Two professional references required prior to first assignment.
- Signed assignment agreement required for onboarding.
- Completion of pharmacology and medical-surgical competency exams prior to start (minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts).
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics within the last year.
- Various health and immunization requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted).
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined).
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- TB screening with 2-step PPD or IGRA and annual questionnaire.
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start).
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment.
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
- Criminal background check including social security trace, OIG search, and national sex offender registry.
- Employment and education verifications required.
- Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file.
Additional Onboarding Requirements
- Completion of onboarding education attestation.
- Onsite nursing contract worker onboarding.
- Completion of electronic health record system test-out and training checklist.
- Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background.
Work Environment
- Must follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment with minimal supervision.
