Registered Nurse - Telemetry I
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; observe, record, and communicate patient conditions.
- Coordinate care across multiple disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
- May be required to work up to 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Compliance and Testing (must be completed prior to or at onboarding)
- Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)
- Specialty Exam in Telemetry (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)
- EKG Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)
- Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc., minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist
- Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
- Fit Test (annual, preferred prior to start)
- Drug Screen (12 panel, within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Criminal Background Check and EPLS (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Employment and Education Verification (within 90 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Professional References (at least two)
- Health Statement or Physical Exam (updated annually)
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations)
- Varicella (two vaccines or immunity proof; no declinations)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations)
- Influenza Vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- TB Testing (2-step PPD or IGRA with annual questionnaire; chest x-ray if positive)
Additional Notes
- Must follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address requirements.
- Onboarding includes completion of specific education attestations and contract worker onboarding.
- A forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background is required.
This position is ideal for an RN with telemetry experience seeking a long-term assignment in a hospital setting, capable of working independently and managing complex patient care needs.
