Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in Medical/Surgical units, including Telemetry, Stroke, Primary, and Team Nursing.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
• Recent experience (within the last year) in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
• Experience in Stroke care.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Health and Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccine proof or agency declination (optional).
• MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required with documentation.
• Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required with documentation.
• Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required.
• Influenza vaccine or declination form required; mask must be worn if declined.
• Tdap preferred but not required (within last 10 years).
• TB testing: Must have recent TB test (PPD or Quantiferon) within last 12 months; follow-up chest x-ray if prior positive.
• Fit test for approved respirator masks within last 12 months (specific models required).
• Physical/Health Statement within last 12 months including vitals and vision screening.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Complete skills checklist for assigned unit, updated annually.
• Pass core competency exams with a minimum score of 80%.
• Provide a current driver's license or state ID.
• Submit a recent agency background check (within 30 days) including multi-county criminal searches and national checks.
• Submit a 9+ panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Provide professional references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from the last 3 years.
• Submit a detailed resume accounting for all employment and education history for the last 7 years.
• Complete required forms including job description acknowledgment, code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgement, and other agency-specific documentation.
• Provide a recent color headshot photo (professional style).

Additional Notes

• Annual requirements include TB questionnaire and physical health reassessment for extended assignments.
• Some training and documentation are available in the agency's document library and must be completed prior to or during onboarding.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with Medical/Surgical expertise who meet the licensure and certification requirements and are prepared to comply with comprehensive onboarding and health screening protocols.
